Happy (belated) birthday, Umi Sonoda!
You were my original starter in SIF and my first best girl (you still are one of my best girls), so you’re very important to me.
When I chose you as my starter, I didn’t know anything about you, so I picked you based on mutual hobbies. I also thought that you had a pretty design. I wanted your wonky R cards more than anyone else’s. When I learned more about your personality, I appreciated you even more!
You’re pretty shy when you’re put on the spot, but you’re also very determined and will work hard towards your goals to overcome any obstacles your timidity may bring with it. You can can also be a bit abrasive, but you’re very well-meaning; you’re so harsh because you only want the best for your friends. If everyone went along with happy-go-lucky Honoka’s ideas all the time and didn’t have you to smooth things over, μ’s likely wouldn’t be as polished. Honoka is a great leader, but behind every great leader is a great logistician.
Your strong bond with Honoka and Kotori is what led to the creation of μ’s. You know them inside and out and will go out of your way to support them. When Honoka is set on doing something, she’ll find a way to get it done, and you’ll back her up. When she wanted to become a school idol, you were hesitant at first, but you warmed up to the idea and became just as determined as her to save your school. When she wanted to quit, you were angry because you knew that quitting went against the type of person that Honoka is.
Kotori is a bit more cautious when it comes to doing things that she wants to do, and it’s something that you can relate to. When you learned that Kotori wanted to leave to pursue a career in fashion, you were disheartened, but you encouraged her to do so because you knew it was something that’d benefit her in the long run.
You know what works for your friends, but don’t be afraid to take some advice from them as well every now and then.
Your voice is my favorite of μ’s! It’s as powerful and moving as the thundering waves of the sea. Your voice is very fitting for your character, too – powerful vocals for such a powerful girl.
I haven’t been giving you quite as much appreciation as I used to because I’m finding so many other characters to love (there are a lot more characters in this franchise now than when we first started our idol journey together), but that doesn’t mean that I don’t still love everything about you! Keep being the amazing, diligent powerhouse that you are! Love Arrow Shot!
