What's up everyone?
I'd like to participate in the "What's your Love Live! story?" Event that is currently going on, so here is my personal story on how I got into this fandom:
It was the summer of 2017, I had just finished watching a playthrough of Danganronpa V3, which got me really into the entire franchise, when I first grasped the concept of Love Live. An online friend of mine mentioned how one of the V3 characters (Tenko Chabashira) was voiced by a very popular voice actress, known for her previous work as Nico Yazawa. That's also when I first realized where the "Nico Nico Nii" meme originated from. Up until that point I had never liked Slice of Life shows let alone Idol anime. To me it was all just weeb bait and terrible music. But I couldn't stop seeing Love Live content every now and then on my feed ever since I had joined the DR fandom. There seemed to be a connection between these two fandoms where a lot of people were a part of both of them for some reason.
Eventually I decided to take a look ( I am probably the LL equivalent of the much hated JoJo Part Skipper: I didn't start with SIP and watched Sunshine instead). And, boy was I in for a ride. At first, most of the VAs sounded kind of high pitched and over the top to me, so I couldn't watch more than just the first episode. Right after finishing it I immediately thought to myself: yeah, this was a big miss for me.
But for some reason, that same day, I saw LL content on Instagram again. It was fan art of the Aqours girls. I looked at Ruby and Chika and I recognized them. For some reason, I couldn't stop thinking about the anime, how well made it was when it came to artstyle, animation and how the music wasn't even that bad at all. The next day I decided to give it another shot. This time I watched the entire first half of the season. With every episode I finished I started to see more things that were actually quite well done, the singing voices, the comedy, the setting. I tried to get behind every characters arc and the reasoning behind their actions, I saw how other fans were having so much fun ranking the girls and talking about their favorite characters.
Eventually I finished season one and started playing SIF as well. After that I realized that there were even more characters I hadn't seen before (u's) and that they had their own anime as well. At that time Season 2 of Sunshine had not aired yet, so I figured I might as well watch SIP as a prequel before Season 2 comes out.
And through the amount of friendly fans and amazing fan arts, I decided to join this fandom.
Ever since then I have been super into Idol stuff, I even joined similar fandoms and started playing other Idol/Rhythm/Gacha games. Now Love Live has become a significant part of my hobbies and I am so very glad about the fact that I decided to overlook the prejudices of it and joined the fandom anyways.
I loved the new cover of the new CYaRon single so I thought I could put some text and coloring to look like it was the sakura bye bye cover (bc the covers from those songs are kinda boring)
Also big thanks to the one who cleared the sample text (I can’t find their username now)

I've taken longer time than I expected, but finally I can shared here my experience how I met 'Love Live!'. But before, I apologize for my bad English.
Shall we begin?
To start, I want to mention [email protected] Cinderella Girls, because in that moment I had just finished the second season of anime and it was the reason why I didn't want to see 'Love Live!' at the beginning, because for me, that anime had bad story to me (sorry for their fans, but it is my opinion).
I heard of 'Love Live!' in 2014 because some friends who played School Idol Festival. However, due to the aforementioned anime, I didn't pay any attention to the franchise and I continued with my life.
It wasn't until following year, specifically August, when I heard my first Love Live's Song: 'Start:Dash!!'. In that moment, a friend wanted to organize a spanish chorus with 8 girls more (9 girls in total) of that song. She was desperate to find a Nico (because she didn't find anyone to play that character) so I decided to help her (I like sing when I have free time), and some days later, that chorus was in Youtube (if you want listen it, I leave here link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbcxpP-4mYc repeat, it is a spanish cover).
At that time, I only recorded that song and from there I didn't hear anything until 2 or months later, when my friend brought all girls we sing in the other song and asked us if we could sang other song in spanish, concretely, 'Snow Halation'. We accepted.
I went from being Nico to Hanayo, and finally Todokete managed to get my attention with 'Love Live' (Finally!)
And taking advantage that I had just bought a new phone, I decided to install the SIF, in that moment was when I entered the Idol Hell, and already in January 2016 I decided to start see the anime. Sincerely, I regretted it. I regretted not having met 'Love Live' before.
As I watched first season chapters, I was increasingly fascinated by the characters, songs... everything. As a result of the anime, Hanayo became my favorite from μ's because of how similar I felt to her: we are shy and talk quietly, but when we are with people we appreciate and talk about everything we like, we talk naturally and we get excited when we talk about what we like.
However, looking for the film, I discovered that μ's was a few months away from Final Live and that there was another group: Aqours. When I saw them at first time, I disliked them because I wanted listen new songs from μ's, watch interactions on their seiyuus. But with time and Sunshine's anime, I took a lot of love for they, now worshiping Kanan, Mari and Hanamaru (and without put aside to Hanayo, obviously).
The years have passed and they have given several concerts, there was more anime to Aqours and a film, the inauguration and closing of Puchiguru (forever in our hearts)... and many of us have gathered here too: All Stars and Nijigasaki girls. For now I don't have a favourite girl, but I hope that with a little more time and when I read the story I can take some special affection same as μ's and Aqours.
This year Love Live celebrates 9th anniversary (and me 4th since I gave them a chance) and with each news they announce they make my day. And there is less and less left for the meeting between the main groups and Saint Snow, so I hope the franchise will continue to have many successes for much longer.
I want to say 'Thanks' too.
Thank you so much Love Live. Thank you μ's, Aqours, Nijigasaki, A-RISE (although they can't continue because of their seiyuus, they deserve a little love in my post) and Saint Snow. Thanks to all the seiyuus who give voice to their characters, thanks to all who are behind for music, animation, novels ... Thank you all.
If it weren't for them, I probably wouldn't be here, I wouldn't have met those wonderful people that I have as friends and with whom I share the passion to sing to the point that we now have a huge group where we sing the songs of Love Live and I would still be depressed inside for all my problems.
The one thing that has always bugged me about Love Live is why they never showed what happened to Yukiho and Alisa’s idol group that they made at Otonokizaka to continue Muse’s legacy. They keep adding all these new spinoffs and stuff but they could really expand on this idea since Yukiho and Arisa are already characters that have established personalities that would be perfect to build and expand upon. Anyways, enjoy this edit of what I think Yukiho would look like as an idol :)
Hi there! My name is Juno, I’m 21, and I’m from New York. I’ve been into Love Live since I watched the anime back in 2015 and was hooked immediately. I started playing SIF around then, and later branched out to other Bushiroad franchises (BanG Dream, Revue Starlight, etc). My favorite music genre is vaporwave and its subgenres and my favorite album is Infinity Frequencies’ Computer Afterlife. I have had a history of being a whale for cards I like, but I’ve gotten my spending under control. I’m looking forward to meeting you all!
